 Dr. Sarah Trocchio

Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Rider University


Dr. Sarah Trocchio is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Rider University, with an expertise in the reproduction and remediation of inequities in drug policies and reforms. She obtained her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University-Newark, and is a dedicated scholar-advocate. Prior to earning her Ph.D., Sarah received her M.S.W. from Boston University, where she served as a graduate research fellow at the Center for Addictions Research and Services.

She has published, presented, and taught widely in the fields of criminal justice, sociology, and social work, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her work has been featured in outlets such as The Journal of Research on Crime and Delinquency, Substance Use & Misuse, and The American Society of Criminology’s Handbook on Punishment & Corrections.
